The painting is like a fine oil or watercolour with rows of trees in various shades of green, some blue in distance and a cluster of blossoming trees in in pink. A little bit of path is showing on the right corner. The vista is of trees and grass which has daisies growing in it and in the distance above is blue sky with large clouds. It is obvious the sun is behind the clouds even though it is not visible. Depending on the angle of the case, it appears the sun is actually coming out from behind the clouds. This is a very special item and rarely coming up for sale. The only thing missing is the artists signature as they clearly need the recognition they deserve for this masterpiece.

Art Deco cigarette case with enamel landscape scene. An absolutely stunning sterling silver cigarette case with a hand painted enamel countryside scene in excellent condition. Incredibly realistic & fluid painting with fabulous colours and sunlight bouncing off the clouds. Gilt sterling silver interior has some wear and is missing the elastic strip. Fully hallmarked for foreign import with London assay mark. c1928.
