The northern Indian silver choker has intricate decoration throughout and hangs down as far as the collar bone. The necklace originates from Rajasthan which is famous for its ornate jewellery that is a reflection of its royal heritage and rich culture. The fabulous necklace tests as sterling silver but no hallmark is visible and it dates from between 1930-50. The northern Indian silver choker requires little maintenance other than a light polish with a soft cloth occasionally.
