Victorian candlestick of palm, stag and snake by WMF. Here is a fabulous example of fine German craftsmanship in this Victorian era brass and silver plate candlestick by WMF. A palm tree with lovely brass fronds takes centre stage housing the candle slot which is big enough for a tealight as well as a wider candle in the middle. The stylised tree has a segmented trunk with a snake coiled around it while a stag looks out to the distance. The ornate brass base is decorated with foliage design in relief and stands on 3 feet. Marked WMF EP to the base. The stag has been rutting & missing the end of one antler. Measures approximately 250mm in diameter at palm fronds, 150mm in diameter at base, 300mm tall and the candle slot is 40mm in inner diameter with a height of 32mm.
